Keep It Real
My general approach is to incorporate the natural surroundings as much as possible with our photography. Whether it be an heirloom in your home, or the turning of the fall leaves, the essence of our surroundings is what brands within our memories. This essence is what I strive to uncover and capture.
Our surroundings are only the tip though, it's so much more fulfilling to uncover the essence of who we are as individuals. Such is the hidden treasure when the fleeting natural smile of a child is captured. This is so much more valuable than a canned "say cheese" smile. Finding what is real about each person that I photograph - that is the spark that fuels my passion for phtoography.
Passion
The pursuit of making each shot better. That is what drives me. Photography is an artform and I am driven to find new ways to be expressive within our art. More than anything, I love to please and surprise others with our photographs. I am always striving to exceed their expectations and give them something that thrills their senses.
And often, I find that I also exceed my own expectations. For me, nothing satisfies as much.
Personal
Joy and I have three wonderful children that keep us both busy most of the time. When we're not chasing them, or trying to keep them out of trouble, we're photographing them. Together, we make a great combination with her creative visions and my technical execution, we often discover things together that neither could have created alone.
Our kids are our life, photography our passion - together, we find that the two combine nicely.
